As\u00a0one of\u00a0the oldest\u00a0language agencies\u00a0in the US, we\u2019ve\u00a0encountered\u00a0some unique challenges during our 30 years\u00a0of\u00a0providing translation\u00a0solutions to clients worldwide.<\/p>\n

One\u00a0of our\u00a0favorites stories began with\u00a0an\u00a0\u201cemergency\u201d\u00a0call after 5 pm on a Friday evening.\u00a0\u00a0It\u00a0was from a political consultant in New York whose firm was advising the campaign\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0major candidate\u00a0in\u00a0an\u00a0upcoming Italian national election. The consultant urgently needed a large PowerPoint\u00a0presentation\u00a0translated into Italian by 8 am EDT Saturday morning for a strategy session with his colleagues in Rome.<\/p>\n

We asked\u00a0why he hadn’t called a language firm in New York. \u00a0He replied that it was 8 pm and all the agencies in New York were closed so he figured that we, being headquartered on the West Coast, would still be open.<\/p>\n

Knowing that we’ve\u00a0regularly delivered challenging translation projects that other agencies are unable to, we recognized\u00a0that this would be one more \u2026\u00a0though we didn\u2019t know\u00a0exactly how we\u00a0would\u00a0do it!<\/p>\n

Nevertheless,\u00a0we\u00a0assured him, \u201cPlease go jog around Central Park and then have dinner and come back to your office around 11 pm [three hours later,\u00a08 pm PDT]. By that time, we’ll have it done for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The weekend had already begun in North America and Italian translators in Europe were either partying or sleeping. Where could we find Italian translation teams at this late hour? In the\u00a0least likely but\u00a0most logical place in the world: Hawaii. There it was only 2 pm and we presumed that our translation teams\u00a0weren\u2019t already pau hana (finished for the week), enjoying some tasty waves and cool beverages.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Fortunately,\u00a0their hopena pule (weekend) had not yet begun\u00a0and our Italian team got the translation done “in modo precise e rapido” –\u00a0accurately and rapidly. We delivered the project on time and as promised.<\/p>\n

Conclusions?<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. While we do work magic, that doesn’t always apply to political candidates whom our translations support. \u00a0Our client’s candidate was defeated.<\/li>\n
  2. While\u00a0nobody hopes for emergencies (they make us all grayer), we’ll do our best to solve your linguistic challenges whenever they occur.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Whatever your language (we translate\u00a0120+<\/a>) and whatever your need, you can rest easy putting your project in\u00a0our hands<\/a>. Preferably before 5 pm on a Friday night!<\/p>\n
