Sex Translations (and Olympics Bloopers)

auerbach intl blog

Now that we have your attention, we thought it would be fun to share some of our more interesting stories involving sex translations.

Auerbach International’s very first project when we opened 33 years ago was from a San Francisco lawyer who asked us to translate his mistress’ love letters from Thai to English and his English responses back into Thai. Disruptive way to launch a company!

Many years later, we got a call around 5pm on a Friday from a 60-something American guy in New York who wanted to divorce his 25-year-old Russian bride whom he met on the Internet. He had secretly recorded her in their bedroom having sex with some other Russian her age and wanted us to transcribe and translate the video for his attorney. It turned out that the video was mostly sounds of pleasure rather than words, but it’s not our business to judge.

A tip from our home-page Free Guide:

No. 4: A.I. translations are mainly literal and word-for-word. In most cases, A.I. does not capture expressions or nuances; convert measurements (say, inches to metric); or do cultural adaptations.

With guaranteed precision from or into 120 languages, we are always delighted to:

  • translate documents, books, social media and websites, all with A+ accuracy;
  • interpret for meetings, conferences or conversations on site, remotely or by phone 24/7;
  • transcribe files from English or any language;
  • dub or subtitle videos as we did with the Dalai Lama’s life-story film;
  • and to evaluate company and product names to prevent overseas cultural blunders.

But we have to admit that certain subjects are a bit more interesting than others.

We are also delighted to now provide a call center to serve your prospects or customers in any language—not just English. Please contact us to learn more.

And finally, to celebrate the Paris Olympics and to brighten your day, we are pleased to present some 2012 NBC Olympic commentators’ English statements:

“This is really a lovely horse and I speak from experience because I once mounted her mother.”

[At the rowing medal ceremony]: “Isn’t that nice. The wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew.”

“One of the reasons Andy is playing [tennis] so well is that before the final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them … Oh my God, what have I just said?”

To prevent your own bloopers and blunders (especially in other languages), to expand your opportunities, and to communicate your value, please ask us for a free quote.
